Status: waiting for your deposit
You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.
The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. pubtoken.xyz never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.
When you hold SOL or a Solana-based token and want it on another chain, you have two paths. One is a decentralised exchange that works within Solana. The other is an exchanger that takes your Solana assets, sends them through its own liquidity, and delivers a different asset on a different network. This page is about the second path.
The form above is the exchanger. You pick what you send and what you want back. The exchanger gives you a deposit address and a quoted amount. You send. The exchanger confirms. It sends back. That sequence is simple on the surface, but each step contains things you need to check before you act.
What the exchanger actually does
The exchanger does not bridge your tokens. Bridging locks tokens on one chain and mints a representation on another. The exchanger instead holds your incoming SOL or SPL token, sells it for the asset you want (possibly through multiple intermediate trades), and sends that asset to your wallet on the destination chain. It takes the network risk and the liquidity risk. You pay for that service inside the spread between the quoted amount and what the market would give you if you did it yourself.
You send to a deposit address that is generated for that specific swap. The exchanger watches that address. Once the transaction has enough confirmations on Solana - usually one or two - it considers the deposit confirmed. Then it executes the outgoing transfer on the destination chain.
What you should check before you send
What should I check before swapping SOL to Bitcoin on an exchange is a question that has a short answer: the destination address. Check every character. If you paste a Bitcoin address and the exchanger expects a Bitcoin address, a single wrong character means the exchanger sends to an address nobody controls. The exchanger cannot reverse that. Also check the network. Sending to a Bitcoin address on the Bitcoin network is not the same as sending to a Bitcoin address on a sidechain or a wrapped token bridge. The exchanger quotes for a specific network. If you paste an address for the wrong network, the swap may fail, or worse, the exchanger may send to an address you cannot access.
Check the amount, too. The quoted amount assumes you send exactly the amount shown. If you send more, the exchanger may still process it, but you might not receive the extra value. If you send less, the swap may be rejected or the quoted rate may no longer apply.
What actually happens during the wait
How long does a SOL swap take when moving between different blockchains varies by chain. Solana confirms in under a second. The exchanger sees that quickly. But the destination chain has its own confirmation speed. Swapping SOL to a token on Ethereum means waiting for Ethereum block times and enough confirmations for the exchanger to be sure the transaction is final. That can take minutes. Swapping SOL to a token on a fast chain like Polygon may finish in under a minute. The exchanger does not control the destination chain's speed.
Why does my swap show completed on Solana but the other chain shows nothing is the most common confusion. The exchanger marks the swap as completed on its end when it has sent the transaction on the destination chain. But the destination chain may not have confirmed it yet. The transaction might be stuck in the mempool if gas was set too low. The exchanger usually sets gas automatically, but if the destination chain is congested, the transaction can sit unconfirmed. Check the destination chain explorer using the transaction ID the exchanger gives you. If the transaction is not there, the exchanger has not sent it yet. If it is there but unconfirmed, wait. If it is confirmed but the balance does not appear, check that you gave the correct wallet address and that your wallet is configured for that network.
Fees, shortfalls, and reversals
How are Solana network fees handled when swapping out of SOL is straightforward. You pay the Solana network fee when you send the deposit. That fee is tiny - often a fraction of a cent. The exchanger pays the destination network fee from the quoted amount. You do not see that fee as a separate line item. It is baked into the spread.
Why did my SOL swap arrive with less than the quoted amount has several possible causes. The exchanger may have received less than the quoted amount because of slippage during the swap. If the asset you are swapping into is volatile, the price can move between the moment the exchanger quotes and the moment it executes the trade. The exchanger usually protects against large moves by rejecting the swap if the price moves beyond a threshold. Small moves may result in a slightly different final amount. Also check whether the destination network fee was higher than expected. Some blockchains adjust fees dynamically. If the fee spikes, the exchanger may deduct the difference from the amount sent.
Can a SOL swap be reversed after the exchange sends the transaction is a direct question with a direct answer: no. Once the exchanger broadcasts the transaction on the destination chain, it is final. There is no chargeback, no reversal, no undo. This is true for every blockchain. The exchanger cannot recall a transaction any more than you can. If you sent to the wrong address, or the exchanger sent to the wrong address due to an error, the funds are gone. The only exception is if the transaction fails entirely - if the destination address is invalid or the network rejects it - but even then, the funds return to the exchanger, not to you. You would need to contact support and hope the exchanger returns them.
Receiving without a wallet
Do I need a Solana wallet to receive swapped tokens from an exchange depends on the direction. If you are swapping out of Solana, you do not need a Solana wallet to receive. You receive on the destination chain. You need a wallet that supports that chain. If you are swapping into Solana, you do need a Solana wallet to receive. The exchanger will ask for a Solana address. If you give an address from an exchange or a custodial service, you must verify that the service supports deposits of that specific token on Solana. Not all do.
The one thing you cannot skip
What happens if I send the wrong amount of SOL to a swap deposit address is that the swap will likely fail. The exchanger watches for a specific amount. If the amount is wrong, it may hold the funds until you contact support, or it may reject the deposit and eventually return it minus network fees. Do not assume a partial send will work. Do not assume an overpayment will be honoured. Send exactly the quoted amount to the deposit address. Nothing else.
The exchanger gives you a deposit address, a quoted amount, and a destination address. Check all three. Then check them again. Once you send, the process runs on its own. It is reliable when the inputs are correct. When they are not, it is unforgiving.
More on swapping
-
Can a SOL swap be reversed after the exchange sends the transaction
No. Once the exchanger broadcasts the SOL or Solana-based token transaction to the network, the swap cannot be reversed. This is true for every cryptocurrency transaction on the Solana blockchain.
-
Do I need a Solana wallet to receive swapped tokens from an exchange
Yes. You need a Solana wallet to receive Solana-based tokens from an exchange. The exchanger sends the swapped assets to a wallet address you control. Without a wallet, there is nowhere to send them.
-
How are Solana network fees handled when swapping out of SOL
When you swap out of SOL through an exchanger, the Solana network fee is deducted from the amount you send, before the exchange itself processes the swap. You pay that fee in SOL as part of the transaction that moves your tokens from your wallet to the exchanger's deposit address
-
How long does a SOL swap take when moving between different blockchains
A swap moving SOL between blockchains typically takes anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour. The exact duration depends on the destination chain, the route the exchanger chooses, and network conditions at the moment the swap is processed.
-
What happens if I send the wrong amount of SOL to a swap deposit address
If you send the wrong amount of SOL to a swap deposit address, the swap will fail. The exchanger’s system checks that the deposited amount matches the quoted amount within a narrow tolerance; anything outside that range is rejected.
-
What should I check before swapping SOL to Bitcoin on an exchange
Before you swap SOL to Bitcoin on an exchanger, check the current exchange rate, the estimated network fees for both chains, and the minimum deposit amount. These three factors determine how much Bitcoin you will actually receive and whether the swap can proceed at all.
-
Why did my SOL swap arrive with less than the quoted amount
The short answer: The amount you receive is almost always less than the quoted amount because the quoted figure is an estimate, not a guarantee. The final amount depends on network conditions, liquidity, and how the exchanger routes your order.
-
Why did my swapped SOL arrive as less than the quoted amount
The short answer is that the quoted amount was an estimate, not a guarantee, and the final figure depends on conditions at the moment the swap actually executes. Several distinct mechanisms can shave value between the quote and the settlement.
