Can a SOL swap be reversed after the exchange sends the transaction

No. Once the exchanger broadcasts the SOL or Solana-based token transaction to the network, the swap cannot be reversed. This is true for every cryptocurrency transaction on the Solana blockchain.

You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.

The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. pubtoken.xyz never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.

The reason is how Solana's consensus works. When the exchanger's node signs and submits the transaction, validators include it in a block. After confirmation - typically within a few hundred milliseconds - the ledger records the transfer permanently. Solana does not have a mempool where a transaction sits pending for minutes, nor does it support the kind of "replace-by-fee" or transaction cancellation features found on some other chains. There is no window to retract.

This applies to all swaps facilitated by the exchanger, whether you are moving SOL into another blockchain or receiving Solana-based assets from an external chain. The moment the exchanger completes its half of the trade and sends the transaction to Solana's network, the outcome is final.

What could go wrong before the transaction is sent?

Before broadcasting, the exchanger holds your deposited funds. If you notice an error - such as sending to the wrong deposit address or an incorrect amount - you might contact support. Some exchangers can return the deposit if they have not yet processed the swap. But once they click "send," the SOL is gone from their control.

What about swaps that appear to fail?

A failed swap is not a reversal. If the exchanger sends the transaction but network conditions prevent it from confirming (rare on Solana, but possible during congestion), the funds return to the exchanger's wallet, not to yours. You then need to contact support to reclaim them. This is a refund of a failed operation, not a reversal of a completed one.

What about scams or mistaken addresses?

If you accidentally provided the wrong recipient address, and the exchanger sent SOL to that address, the transaction is final. There is no mechanism on Solana to claw back funds from an address you do not control. The exchanger cannot help - they do not have the private keys to that address. Always triple-check recipient addresses before completing the deposit side of a swap.

What about chargebacks or disputes?

Cryptocurrency transactions have no chargeback mechanism. The exchanger cannot reverse a completed SOL transfer at the request of a payment provider, bank, or any third party. Once confirmed, the record is immutable.

What if the exchanger made an error?

If the exchanger sends the wrong amount or to the wrong address due to their own mistake, they might choose to send a corrective transaction from their own funds. That is a voluntary action, not a technical reversal. You have no guarantee they will do so.

Where does this fit in the broader process?

This page is part of a set about moving SOL and Solana-based assets in and out of other chains using an exchanger rather than an on-chain DEX. The hub page, "Swapping Solana tokens without a DEX," explains the overall workflow. Understanding that no step after the exchanger's broadcast can be undone is essential before you start any swap.

Summary

Treat every SOL swap as irreversible from the moment you see the exchanger confirm they have sent the transaction. Verify all details before you deposit. That is the only control you have.
